Rocip Eye Oint is an ophthalmic ointment that is prescribed for the treatment of bacterial infections of the eye or even ear. It disrupts the multiplication of bacteria and reduce its number. It works by inhibiting the bacterial DNA and topoisomerase. The ointment helps with severe systematic infections including peritonitis, bacteremia and infected burns. The main ingredient of the medicine is ciprofloxacin, a fluoroquinolone antibiotic that treats bacteria. It prevents from a wide range of gram-positive and gram-negative bacteria including penicillinase, staphylococci and pseudomonas aeruginosa. The ointment should be applied throughout the day with a minimum 4-hour gap or as prescribed by the doctor.
